Mission Projects

Every year, Kingdom Kids chooses two mission projects to teach our children that it is indeed more blessed to give than to receive, and that sharing the love of Jesus with others is important.  When we express our love for Christ by ministering to those in need, we represent the hope and love of the Lord.   We invite our families to join our efforts, knowing that together we can reach out to those in need, and let them know that there are caring people who are praying for them, and sharing God's blessing with them.

 Food for Friends

Our spring mission project, Food for Friends, involves collecting food and/or money to support the local Food Pantry which serves needy families in the South Hills.  The children and their families make food/monetary donations during the month of March and each class charts the number of food items donated, as well as the amount of money collected on a daily basis.   Our students learn math skills and develop a heart for others.

Operation Christmas Child

For the past several years, we have chosen to participate in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan’s Purse for our fall mission project.  Since 1993 Operation Christmas Child has shared the Good News of God’s love with children worldwide who are in desperate circumstances.  Simple gifts, such as school supplies, toys, candy, and personal items are collected and packed into shoeboxes.  The gift boxes are then distributed around the world, representing the love and hope of Jesus Christ to the children who receive them.  When we first introduced this project to our children and their families, we set a goal of 10 boxes, 2 from each class.  The response from our families was so great, that we have filled an abundance of boxes to overflowing each year, indicating that our families do indeed know how to demonstrate God’s love in tangible and intangible ways.

Fundraising

Fundraising is done to help Kingdom Kids support and achieve the school's vision and mission.  Monies raised during fundraising have been used for example to purchase new equipment for the classrooms and make improvements to the school and their technologies.

The Fall fundraiser was a  Mixed Bag Fundraiser. These unique, recycled bags offer a green alternative for a variety of storage and/or shopping needs. The products range from grocery and department store bags to lunch bags, laptop & iPhone covers to multi-purpose duffel and tote bags. They come in a variety of sizes and unique patterns. Check out their website at www.mixedbagdesigns.comThank you to all who once again made this a successful fundraising opportunity!

Our  Spring fundraiser will be notecards featuring original artwork drawn by the children of Kingdom Kids. Sets of 10 cards made up of your own child's artwork will be available for purchase, as well as sets of mixed cards from all of the classes. More details will be coming soon!
