As the new
director of Kingdom Kids Nursery School, I would like to
introduce myself. With a Bachelor of Science in Elementary
Education from the University of Connecticut, my first work
experience in the classroom was in Victoria, Australia. I
spent two years teaching “preparatory year” to four, five
and six year olds at Frankston School. After returning to
the States, I taught a “Gifted and Talented” 5th
grade class in West Haven, CT. Upon moving to Boston with
my husband, Larry, I took a job with the federal government
and began my career as a paralegal with the US Attorney’s
Office. I continued with the US Attorney’s office in
Connecticut when we relocated there, and my oldest son,
Kyle, was born. When we moved to North Carolina my son,
Ryan, was born, and I left work to begin my career as a stay
at home mother. As my children grew, I did volunteer work
as a Cub Scout leader, soccer coach, lacrosse coach, school
classroom volunteer, Writing Lab Coordinator and English as
a Second Language teacher. After stints in Ohio and
Connecticut, again, our family moved to Pittsburgh in 1999.
We were blessed to find a church home at MLUPC, where I have
been involved as a Sunday School teacher, Stephen Minister,
Prison Ministry volunteer, Wedding Coordinator, and Deacon.
My association with Kingdom Kids Nursery School began as a
classroom teacher in 2005, and I am honored to be called as
director of the program this year. It is both a pleasure
and a privilege to be a part of such a wonderful ministry
and staff at Kingdom Kids Nursery School.
